Last week our National Lottery Awards ambassador Larry Lamb visited a roadshow by The Bionic Ear Show, one of the three finalists in the Best Health Project category.
The Bionic Ear Show is an educational, interactive and fun show that tours community venues and schools across the UK educating people about their hearing and explaining how to protect it. Larry surprised pupils at Battersea Park School in London when he turned up to take part in the Show.
The project was of particular interest to Larry as he lost hearing in one ear following a bout of malaria.
He said: “The Bionic Ear Show is a wonderful project and thanks to its tireless work touring the country with its hearing health message, the show has already been seen by thousands. It was a real shock when I realised I couldn’t hear properly so I’m keen to help this good cause gain more exposure. It is a great example of the life-changing work Lottery-funded projects carry out in local communities."
