The first Paralympic World Cup was hosted in Manchester in May 2005 and will return again in 2006. Competition was held in four sports: cycling, athletics, wheelchair basketball and swimming.

Up to £300,000 was awarded.
Why was the project so good?
More than 350 athletes from 41 countries took part in the event, which was a great success. UK Sport’s will only fund events where teams or individuals represent a number of nations and compete at World, European or Commonwealth level.
