What is the project?
The purpose of the centre is to encourage participation in physical activities. The project was to build two changing rooms in the new healthy living centre centre. This included showers, toilets, stores, referees’ room and a meeting room. The Old Library Trust secured £1.7 million funding package from various public and non-public funders including Big Lottery Fund, towards the construction of a healthy living centre. The centre complemented the activity of existing sports clubs and organisations that currently have to travel out of the area for indoor facilities and health-based programmes.
