Why was this project so good?

The North West Carnival Initiative brings the people of Derry together to express their creativity.  The group proposed that carnival would let the community explore the city’s different ethnic traditions in an original and non-partisan way. The facilitators would learn how to run a carnival and they would use these skills at a variety of festivals in Co. Londonderry including the cross community St Patrick’s Day festival.

One reason why the application was successful was because of how much the public would benefit from the project.  The training workshops were of a high standard and there was also a high level of project management skills.
