Why was this project so good?

The project scored highly on the Public Benefit criterion. As well as creating new artworks that would help to renew public pride in local villages, the project would involve people of all ages in cross-community workshops on traditional skills. The project themes would develop from local understanding of the place and heritage. Local tourism in the area would also benefit from the project.

The project proposal was comprehensive, ambitious, and sensibly phased to bring lasting long-term outcomes. It met many of the Arts Council’s  strategic priorities and objectives.

The project’s financial proposals were well thought-out and management   was experienced in running arts projects.
