The money enabled a group to refurbish a piece of land to meet community needs. Lottery funding paid for the group to spend money on groundwork, planting, bird boxes and tree identification.

Awards for All offers grants from between £500 to £5,000 for a wide range of community activities.

Prestatyn, North Wales 

 

Why was this project so good?

The project allowed the group to develop a piece of land, which is used by the whole community, and given them the confidence to apply for further grants to improve the surrounding area. Local primary school children and other community groups also got involved in the planning and development work by developing a tree trail, bird watch and sensory garden.
